Assistant manager Colin Nation has his say on Scott Rogers appointment and moving on to the new season.

When Scott announced that he was to play his final game for Tiverton I knew that he still had the desire to play at some kind of level. That said it was important to me personally that Scott stayed involved with the club in some capacity. We spoke on numerous occasions before the end of the season about what his options might be. Scott obviously had a few offers from clubs to go and have a season with them and I was worried we would lose him at one point. I was delighted when Martyn and Scott agreed on his new role and this has made my decision to continue a no brainer. From the clubs point of view it also puts in place a long term plan for Scott to take full control whenever Martyn decides to step down, but that could be another 20 years away!

Seriously though, I am so pleased for Scott, Martyn and the club and I am sure the players will be delighted with the news as well. We also welcome Jay Richardson to the backroom staff who takes over from Mike Hawkins as the very important Kit Man.

It is now time to start concentrating on player recruitment and retention. It was a tough season last year and we want to make sure we are ready with the right people in place to make us competitive in a league that will be full of big clubs all wanting that top position. It will be a real challenge with the resources we have but I know with the support and help of all our staff and volunteers we wont do badly. Lastly thanks to all the supporters who have kept coming and getting behind the lads. We encourage you to do the same this season and bring some friends along to join you. The more support we have the more likely we are to have success.

Myself, Martyn and Scott are already hard at work preparing for next season, so have a nice couple of months off and we will see you in July #COYY
