THE healthy relationship between Tivvy and Weston-super-Mare paid dividends for the second time today, when defender Bailey Kempster returned to the Ian Moorcroft Stadium on loan.
Bailey played 14 times for Tivvy when manager Leigh Robinson took him on loan spell from the Seagulls last season, and Yellows’ assistant Ben Gerring said his comeback has already created a real buzz around the place.
“Myself and Leigh are over the moon with this one,” he said. “Only [Weston assistant manager] Scott Bartlett knows how much we have pushed to bring Bailey in! He’s a fantastic lad.
“The lads are all excited to see him back and a player we all know will strengthen this already talented squad. He has a wonderful left foot, with excellent game understanding and knows already how myself and Leigh work.”
Bailey joined Weston in the summer of 2019 as part of the club’s partnership with Weston College, and he went on to score four goals in 16 games for the under-19s during 2019-2020. His form for the youth team saw him rewarded with a first-team debut in the Southern League.
He joined Southern League Division One South side Willand Rovers on loan for a month in September 2020, which was then extended in October 2020. He made nine appearances and scored one goal before the season was curtailed because of COVID-19..
The following season, made 33 appearances for Willand scoring five goals, either side of playing in the Somerset Premier Cup for Weston.
In 2022, he joined Willand Rovers on loan for a fourth time, made 29 appearances with three goals and again turning out for Weston in the Somerset Premier Cup.
Welcome back, Bailey!
