Burton Onboard

We are pleased to announce our second new signing of the summer as we welcome goalkeeper George Burton to the club from near neighbours Willand Rovers.

George, now 28, is no stranger to the club, having spent a trial period with us and featured in several pre-season friendlies at the start of the 2019/20 season before taking some time out of the game following the COVID pandemic. His previous clubs also include Torquay United, Farnborough and Woking to name but a few.

Fresh from signing on the dotted line, George had this to say. "Really happy to be back at Tivvy. I remember, albeit only briefly my time with the club a few years ago, really fondly and I`m delighted to have this opportunity to help the club push on. Can`t wait to get going under Asa and Steves leadership and help push the club back up the table again".

Player/manager Asa Hall added, "Georges experience between the sticks at this and higher levels of football will be vital for us in the coming months and years, so to get him onboard is a real coup for us. He was part of the squad at Torquay when we won the league title and I`m delighted to finally get to work with him again".
