YOUNG Tiverton defender Carlo Garside’s displays for Yellows this season have attracted the attention of one of the country’s top sides.
The 19-year-old has been invited for a trial this week at a Premier League side.
The invite represents a huge personal achievement for Carlo, as well as being further evidence that big clubs cast their eyes far and wide in search of talent.
Yellows’ manager Leigh Robinson spoke the delight of everyone at Ladysmead that one of his players has piqued top-flight interest on the back of some consistently impressive performances for Tiverton.
He said: “We’re all absolutely over the moon that Carlo has this opportunity and we wish him all the very best. He’s a terrific lad with definite potential to grow in the game.
“As a club, it’s also a great sign that our young players are being watched by the top clubs in the country and that this is a place for players to open up opportunities at a higher level.”
The Plymouth-born ex-Argyle youth team player has represented Tivvy 27 times this season, his first full campaign with the club, scoring twice.
