YELLOWS have signed Marcus Day on the eve of their Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South visit to play-off chasing Basingstoke Town.
Marcus, 23, arrives at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium - and a reunion with manager Rob Dray - after having earlier parted company with Frome Town. He goes straight into the Yellows' squad for their visit to the Winklebury Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon.
Missing from the Tivvy squad will be striker Evander Grubb, who has moved to Bristol Manor Farm following a short spell at Ladysmead.
Marcus, a left-sided player, moved to Frome from Taunton Town, having joined Rob Dray's Peacocks on the eve of the 2023-24 campaign after trialling successfully during pre-season. The previous season, he finished with a Southern League Division One South winners' medal with Totton.
He started out at Bristol City from the age of 14 and played for the Under-18 and Under-23 sides while also spending several months on loan at Paulton Rovers, where he enjoyed a spell of scoring nine goals from 11 games.
After being released by City in the summer of 2020, he signed for Southern League Bristol Manor Farm until the season ended because of COVID-19.
He then joined Cymru Premier side Barry Town United for the 2021-22 campaign before returning to Manor Farm in the summer of 2022.
Welcome to the IMS, Marcus.
