TIVERTON Town are pleased to announce Leigh Robinson as the club’s new First-Team Manager.
Leigh said: “I’m really pleased and honoured to be given the chance to manage Tiverton Town. As someone who has lived in Devon for many years, I’ve always been aware of what a big and highly respected non league club this is.
“I’m under no illusions about the size of the task ahead. Obviously there has been a lot of change at the club off the pitch, which creates its own challenges, and the new Executive Committee have been very clear that the club perhaps isn’t financially in the position they want it to be.
“However, I’ve taken on this challenge as I have every faith that the new Committee and the personnel involved will get it right off the pitch, which will, in turn, give me the chance to produce a team that they and the fans can be proud of. Unquestionably, on and off the pitch, this will take time and it’s been made clear to me that this is a long-term project.
“Finally, I’d like to pay tribute to the incredible work Martyn Rogers did at the club over many years. He was a great help to me in my early years as a manager and whilst we then managed separate clubs and went head to head for a few years, I always hugely admired and respected his work. If I can have half the success here as he had, we’ll be in for a great ride.”
Tiverton Chairman Michael Dunford said: “Leigh was the outstanding candidate in a quality field of applicants and the committee were unanimous in deciding on his appointment. We are delighted that he has accepted our invitation to join the club as it embarks on an exciting new era.”
We look forward to introducing Leigh to everyone in the coming days.
