Hey, Jay

WITH less than two weeks before Tivvy's first pre-season game, manager Leigh Robinson has further boosted the Yellows' squad with the signing of Jay Murray.

Jay, 23, who can play anywhere across the midfield or higher up the pitch, comes to the Ian Moorcroft Stadium after turning out for Bridgwater Town and Taunton Town last season.

He signed for Bridgwater in September 2023 after having spent two seasons at Weston-super-Mare, where he was a member of the Seagulls' squad that won promotion to the Vanarama National League South.

In March this year, he joined Taunton on dual registration forms, making five appearances for the Peacocks as they suffered the first relegation in their history, finishing 22nd in National League South.

Jay had joined Weston from Clevedon Town, where he scored 18 goals and assisted 11 in more than 50 appearances, in July 2021 and played 75 times as the Seagulls won the Southern Premier South title.

He began his career as a 16-year-old in the Somerset County League with Congresbury and Cheddar Reserves during the 2017-2018 season before twice playing for Toolstation Western Premier League side Odd Down either side of a spell at Hengrove Athletic.

Jay is the son of Bristol City legend Scott Murray, who played more than 450 times for the Robins in two spells, scoring 74 goals, and has since worked at Ashton Gate as kitman and club ambassador.

Welcome to Ladysmead, Jay.

Jay Murray is available for sponsorship for the 2024-25 season. If you would like to sponsor him, or for further details, please email chairman@tivertontownfc.co.uk
