Jack All In

JACK Carter has gone from Green to Yellow without feeling blue.

Tivvy’s latest signing sees his move to the Ian Moorcroft Stadium from Forest Green Rovers as having the potential to be win-win.

As a result, the 19-year-old defender – Rovers’ youngest ever first-team player – cannot wait to get going and begin to fulfil the ambitions he holds for himself and his new employers.

He said: “It's just a great opportunity to play a good level of football, play as much football as I can, and help the team to get as high up the table as I can.

“As a team, we've just got to pull together and look to win as many games as we can. It’s a club that’s definitely big enough to do well.

“For myself, to make a bit of a name for myself. I’ve been at a club where I was a bit of a small fish in a big pond, but I really hope I make a name for myself here at Tiverton.”

Jack has spent enough time on loan at Melksham over the past couple of seasons to have a good idea of what lies ahead, and it will not be long before he adds to that experience.

“The pre-season schedule looks very, very good,” he said. “A lot of good teams to play and decent places to play, a fantastic platform to get started, to get fit for the season. I’ve been told a lot of good things about the players, a good group of lads that I will enjoy playing with.”

The getting-to-know-you experience cuts both ways, of course, so can Jack give his new team-mates, and Yellows’ supporters, and indication of what they will see when he crosses the white line?

“I see myself as quite an exciting player,” he said. “I play anywhere up the right; I like to get forward and get crosses in. I'm quite direct, so I think that's what the fans can expect from me this season.”
