JAVAN Wright believes that Tiverton Town offers the ideal platform for him and the club to make progress.

Javan, who has committed himself to Yellows for the upcoming Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South campaign, enjoyed similar personal fortunes as Tivvy did last season, improving under new manager Leigh Robinson following his move from Bideford as the games ticked by.

That, among other things, persuaded him to re-sign for 2024-25.

“In the short space of time that I’ve been here, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club,” he said.

“The fans have been great; everybody involved with the club has done great for me. Towards the end of last season, I started to pick up some form. It was a no-brainer – I want to carry on the run from last season and hopefully push on.

“I’m looking forward to pushing on. I feel like the squad that is being put together has all started to click; everything from the club, as well, pushing us. I feel like we are going to be able to crack on a little bit further, maybe go for the play-offs. I feel like the squad we have got could really cause some damage in the league. It’s an exciting time to be at the club.

“Seeing that our neighbours Taunton Town have come down, that’s always been a big derby so I am looking forward to that, too.

“On a personal level, I want to develop a bit more as a player and I feel this is the perfect stage to do that. I want to contribute more with goals, assists, and I really want to get behind the club.

“As an attacking player, I’m quite versatile. I can play anywhere across the front line or in the attacking positions, but my most comfortable position would be coming in from the right.”
