The coaching team has moved quickly to secure the services of Portuguese attacking player Marcio Neves following his relocation to Devon.
The quick-footed wide man or No.10 had been plying his trade with Isthmian League South Central Division Hartley Wintney and was on a dual registration with Basingtoke, his parent club.
A popular member of the Basingstoke team in their promotion winning 2022-23 season, Neves' performances at Arlesford Town in the Wessex League gained plenty of plaudits the previous campaign and gained the attention of our league rivals.
With two Portuguese speakers in the dressing-room - the other being Brazilian Alefe Santos – I am sure that Leigh and Ben will have been brushing up on their language skills.
