Salisbury Pain

TWO late goals by visitors Salisbury brought to an end the Yellows’ unbeaten home record in the Pitching In Southern Premier League Division South on Wednesday evening.

After going behind to an early Noah Coppin goal, Town rallied to level through captain Jamie Richards midway through the first half.

Tivvy, who had midfielder River Allen back in their starting line-up after suffering concussion in the FA Cup tie with Wimborne 10 days earlier, appeared to be heading to a third draw from four league games at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium when Coppin notched his second goal three minutes from full-time.

Charlie Gunson rubbed salt in the Yellows’ wound three minutes later, when he added Salisbury’s third to maintain the visitors’ unbeaten start to the new campaign.

The three points moved Salisbury into fourth place in the table with 18 points from eight games, three behind early leaders Chesham, having played a game more. Tivvy are in 15th position, with eight points from eight matches played.
