FRUSTRATINGLY, tonight's rearranged Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South match against Dorchester Town has been postponed.
Supporters gave up their time on Monday to support our volunteer groundstaff working on the Ladysmead surface, on which the Yellows played on Saturday and which have taken a battering from the recent rains. However, their much appreciated sterling work was sadly in vain.
The decision was taken following an inspection by a local referee on Tuesday afternoon.
It is the third time this season that the fixture has fallen foul of the weather. Tivvy were originally scheduled to host the Magpies on New Year's Day and, when that fell foul of the weather, the match was rescheduled for February 20 - only to be be postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
This latest postponement means that, following next Saturday's visit to Hungerford, Tivvy have to squeeze in no fewer than seven home games out of their final ten fixtures in the six and a bit weeks before the end of April.
No decision has been made on the date of a rearrangement. We will let supporters know just as soon as that is decided.
