We Want Moors

TIVERTON Town are staging another special match-day celebrating junior football in their community.

Moors Youth FC will be special guests at the Yellows’ Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South game against Gosport Borough on Saturday, February 24.

All Moors YFC players are invited to the game absolutely free of charge – youngsters who arrive at the Ian Moorcroft wearing official Moors club coat or tracksuit top will not have to pay…and neither will an accompanying adult.

Moors Youth Day follows a similar initiative from the club with another local junior club, Twyford Spartans.

Unfortunately, the wet weather meant that Twyford Spartans Day – Saturday, February 10’s game against Poole Town – had to be postponed, but talks are ongoing to rearrange.

Yellows’ Vice-Chairman Matthew Conridge said: “As we have always stressed, Tiverton Town are great supporters of youth football, and our relationship with clubs in our area benefits everyone, including the town and wider community.

“While the weekend rain prevented the Spartans’ youngsters from joining us for our game against Poole, we are working hard to provide a suitable alternative.

“Meanwhile, we look forward to welcoming Moors players and their families to the Ian Moorcroft Stadium on February 24.

“We are committed to being a club for the local community, immersed in the local community, and run by the local community.”

Moors Youth Football Club provides football for boys and girls between the ages of 5-16 years. It was formed in Tiverton in 1998 and has around 300 players signed-on.
