Beaconsfield vs Tiverton Town | Match Report | 09/04/22

Beaconsfield Town got the game underway and very nearly took the lead in the first minute when a cross come shot dipped over the head of Tiverton keeper Jimmy Weeks and came back off the crossbar and was cleared by the Tivvy defence. Tiverton's first real attack came four minutes later when a Gary Warren pass up field found Nelson Iseguan who cut into the box his cross was just inches away from making contact with the head of Andy Watkins who had dived full length to try and get his head on the ball but the ball went out for a goal kick. Beaconsfield broke quickly and the ball into the Tivvy box found Beaconsfield number nine Nathan Minhas but he put his shot over the bar from close range.

Beaconsfield's next attack saw Oliver McCoy fire in a shot that was well saved by Weeks but the ball fell to Scott Donnelly who put the ball in the top corner of the net to put Beaconsfield 1-0 up after only ten minutes of play. The home side nearly scored again from their very next attack but a Craig Woodman goal line clearance and a Gary Warren kick got the ball away. The game was really open with both teams creating chances. A Louis Morison corner was nearly put in at the far post by Warren but he couldn't get a strong enough touch on the ball to put it in. On nineteen minutes Iseguan played the ball through to Andy Watkins who ran on and smashed the ball past Neish in the Beaconsfield goal to make it 1-1. Next it was Beaconsfield's turn to have a go when their striker went past three Tivvy defenders before seeing his shot well saved by Weeks. A Dan Hayfield shot was blocked and went out for a Tivvy corner. When the corner was put into the box the Beaconsfield defence cleared the ball but it fell to Nelson Iseguan who's first time shot went in off the post to make it 2- 1 to Tiverton.

This was a real end to end game with both teams creating chances and on thirty minutes a twenty yard shot from Dan Hayfield curled past the Beaconsfield keeper to put Tiverton 3-1 up. Four minutes later and Tiverton were awarded a penalty which Louis Morison converted to make it 4-1. The last attempt of the half fell to the home side but again Jimmy Weeks was on hand to save the ball. Both teams made halftime changes with Joe Belsten replacing Gary Warren for Tivvy and Fawole replacing Chiriac for Beaconsfield. The home side also changed their keeper at halftime. Tiverton got the second half underway but with only five minutes gone it was Beaconsfield who scored when Toby Little had a simple tap in to make it 4-2. Beaconsfield were looking the stronger of the two teams in the opening minutes but Tivvy nearly got goal number five but Jordan Lam saw his header hit the bar and cleared away.

Both teams were creating chances and it seemed only a matter of time before another goal would arrive. Tiverton made another change with Theo Simpson replacing Chris Shephard. Beaconsfield were awarded a free kick which was put into the Tivvy box and Little got his second of the match when the ball went in off the bar to make it 4-3 and Beaconsfield were right back in the game. Beaconsfield nearly got the equaliser but Jimmy Weeks was there again to tip the ball over the bar to save the day for Tiverton. With ninety minutes on the clock Tiverton were awarded another penalty which again Morison converted to put Tivvy 5-3 up. Tiverton made their final change with Olando Anker replacing Andy Watkins. There was still time for both teams to have a chance each but the game ended Beaconsfield 3 Tiverton 5
