Pears Lands 'Hungry' Dugan

Updated: Oct 30, 2023

MUCH-TRAVELLED young striker Elliott Dugan has joined Tiverton ahead of this weekend’s Pitching In Southern League Premier South match at Gosport Borough.

Elliott is only 23 years old but has already plied his trade in five footballing nations, including at Welsh top-flight side Haverfordwest County, for whom he scored three times in 20 appearances last season.

Yellows interim manager Richard Pears said: “I am delighted to get Elliott on board. He has been training with a National League South team and I have been keeping tabs on him, hoping that he would become available.

“I’m very excited to have him with us. He is a strong, striker that is hungry to score goals and wants to develop his career."

Elliott, who goes straight into the Tiverton squad for Saturday's away match against Gosport, started his career with Swindon Town and played for their Under-18 side before being released.

He went on to spend some time playing in Sweden for Ytterhogdals IK before joining Akrotir in Cyprus in the summer of 2020, going on to score 24 goals in 30 games. This earnt him a move to third-tier Cypriot club Kouris Erimis, where he notched seven goals in 10 games before leaving in December 2021.

A move to Northern Ireland followed a month later, when he joined Portadown, leaving the Danske Premiership club at the end of the season to join Haverfordwest.

He was recently at Taunton Town, for whom and he made several substitute appearances.

Welcome to the IMS, Elliott.
