JOINING Tiverton Town for the rapidly approaching new season was “a no-brainer” for Tor Swann.
The young forward signed for Yellows’ just before their latest pre-season friendly against Weston-super-Mare on Saturday and made his debut against the Seagulls a few hours later, coming on as a substitute in the 2-1 defeat.
Tor, 20, spent the majority of the last two seasons at Toolstation Western League Premier Division Barnstaple and was excited to be approached by Tivvy assistant manager Ben Gerring with an offer to transfer his talents – which he describes as “pacy, direct, skilful and aggressive” – to the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division.
He said: “I just wanted to play at the highest level possible this season. So, when Gez contacted me, it was a no-brainer. I always want to play and test myself at the highest standard
“It’s a new-look side and everyone looks fit and strong. I look around and there are some really good players in this team and I think that’s brilliant! So my hopes for this season are to establish myself as a Step 3 player.
“It’s always exciting when you’re at a new club. It gives you a bit of a boost and plenty of motivation.”
