Mic Drop - Want to Pick it Up?

Writer: Simon EllisSimon Ellis

THERE might have been no nerves at Tivvy's last game of the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South season, but there was plenty of emotion.

The 1-0 victory against Sholing at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium was the last game on the mic for the maestro of match-day announcers, Ian Humphries.

The Voice of Ladysmead was presented with a memento of thanks before he called his final 90 minutes, Vice-Chairman Matthew Conridge handing over a bottle of something to keep his golden larynx well lubricated in retirement.

All of which means that we are now looking for someone to fill Ian's volunteer role, starting from the 2024-25 pre-season, keeping the Yellows' fans abreast of the teams, substitutions, club functions and match events, and playing some suitably inspiring music before and after the game and at half-time.

If that could be you, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Executive Committee member Deb Whiteway via email on debwhiteway@gmail.com.
